About Dr Francis Matete
Dr Matete is a highly experienced psychiatrist with over three decades of specialist practice
across New Zealand, the UK, and Kenya. He has held senior leadership roles in public health
and private psychiatry, including Clinical Director of Kilimani Hospital in Kenya and Specialist
Consultant roles at Waikato and Lakes District Health Boards. Currently practising in New
Zealand, he provides comprehensive adult psychiatric care with a special focus on ADHD,
mood disorders, forensic psychiatry, and culturally responsive mental health.
For patients, Dr Matete is available exclusively through MSQ Health for private psychiatric
assessments and consultations, including ADHD diagnosis and treatment.
